DC is apparently safer than the ‘nooga. Who’da guessed.

Baltimore in the other hand...

I don’t live in or near either. Nice to visit though. So is the ‘nooga. Had lunch and quaffs at some brewery there a few years back. Can’t find the pint glass or id tell you the name.

The downtown area around the aquarium has some pretty good restaurants and is consider safe. Nice, clean, but parking can be a little bit of a hassle, it's not expensive though.

Nothing is safe there. Even the harbor area has had issues. This used to be a pretty good place to go. Just a sad azz place overall. Can't wait to leave this area one day.

It's not much of a town. There's a big reservoir there called Detroit Lake. It's about half way up the Cascades to Santiam Pass.

It'll take a while to get here. That's up in the foothills where there are still a lot of forest lands. I'm down in the valley with a lot of pastures and grass farms. The grass farms are all mostly bare and plowed right now.

Detroit MI was probably not a shithole in the 1890s. Or maybe it was. Why else would they leave.
