Did I mention I'm getting a P0307 code in my truck? Very concerning.

Check simple stuff first like Jet mentioned below.

I've made them that way before, they can be quite good that way. Plus all you need is a gas grill, nothing fancy. But they are better when smoked IMHO.

Years ago I always par-boiled ribs. But I think in the last 20 years or so pork in grocery stores has become a much leaner product and par-boiling them made them too lean and dry. If I'm not smoking them, my ribs spend some time on the grill and some time in a slow cooker or oven, doesn't seem to matter much which is done first.

Exactly this. Back in the late 80's, early 90's I par-boiled them per some Cajun Cooking recipe book. The spare ribs were fatty and it made a big mess that you had to deal with (all that fatty liquid with vegetable remnants after boiling them.) All I had to grill on was a Sunbeam gas grill and this worked great for a few years. Then I got a smoker and never turned back.

At least here you don't get banned for not on topic posts, or at least so far.
