Nice ride! Excellent vehicle for all kinds of utility work, run to the dump, pick up building supplies, bad weather ride, just an all around hauler, and slide to a cruise-in once and a while.
Bought my '02 1500 long bed several years ago, has come in handy countless times.

I was looking for well over a year to find a truck like this that wasn't stupid priced. Had to go to Greenville SC for this one, but well worth it. Already had most of what I wanted to do to it. Had the spray in bed liner and the cover. I just added a V1 hard wire, my XM unit and this weekend replaced the overhead console with one from a Tahoe that had a home link unit built in.

Found this one on craigslist. Every morning I did a search thru all of Florida, Georgia, SC and eastern Alabama for a 99-06 Silverado/Sierra. Also did cars.com, autotrader and ebay. Everything I was interested in seemed to be priced at 10-12K and most had some sort of issue. I missed a few that was priced where I wanted to be, but you need to be quick for the deals. When I found this and agreed on a price, I flew up and got it as soon as I could. A truck this nice was a steal at $6200.

Mainly cost. It is a 4th vehicle, didn't want to spend a fortune. I started off looking at late 60's early 70's. Budget killed that in a hurry. Then I moved to the mid 80's square bodies. Nice ones were stupid money, budget friendly meant rusty projects. Finally, after much thought, I moved to the 99-06 platform. Low maintenance LSx based 5.3, all of the comfort options, just ended up working out to be the best choice for my application.
