On Star New Theft Activation Alarm Notification
I saw on Facebook today that On Star just released a new feature. On certain 2014/15/16 GM vehicles (the 2015 Corvette is listed) you can sign up thru your On Star subscription to have On Star send you either a phone call, text message or email if your factory installed theft alarm is activated.
On Star can then track the vehicle and notify the authorities of its location. I called On Star and the rep said this is a very new feature and notification of it hasn't yet been sent on all its customers. She went ahead and signed me up for it. It could prove to be a valuable tool when traveling and leaving the Corvette in a hotel parking lot or when out for an evening dinner, movie, etc. |

On Star New Theft Activation Alarm Notification
With the key fob tech (auto door unlock, remote start, eric.) it's within the realm of possibility that the gm system could get hacked / jail broken and the almrm never get activated. In that case onstar would be useless. I like the LoJack early warning system. But that also depends on the fob (how far away the car gets from it).
