Default Moving from 2015 towards 2016

I am not a new year resolution type of person, but this year and next is a life changer for me.

After 29 years, me and wife dropped papers to get a divorce, won't be done until 2016.

At work my customer said my skills were not needed and I was given notice, my company reclassified me to keep me here at my job with a new title but now a dead end job. I decided, piss on this, if my skills are not appreciated I am moving on and notified my management that I am looking for a new job. So far they are receptive to my potential move back to Colorado. Hope to be back in Colorado in the next few months.

I don't want to hear about new year resolution BS, what life changers are you willing to share going from 2015 to 2016?

Nothing for me but my dad is having back surgery in February which will hopefully be a major relief from the pain he has been dealing with for a year.

Best wishes on your situation, you seem to have a positive attitude all things considered. A move may be the change you need

2016 should be about onward and upward, right.

Thanks, I could have stayed with her but if we are not happy together I see no reason, we both deserve to be happy.

I know, just at this time do not plan on getting married again, but the right women could change that. I will be looking for someone I am happy to be with 24/7 (different than what I currently have).

I have no regrets, I have two wonderful Sons with my wife, I am willing to do anything for them and because of that I am forever indebted to my wife. I am lucky, this is not an ugly divorce, we have just grown apart.

Also known as a "Life Lesson".

I wish you the best of luck moving forward. As someone who went thru a divorce, it will be much easier that you and the former Mrs aren't attempting to rip out each other's throat.

After my divorce, I started dating and Mary became my best friend. We were together for almost 8 years before we married ( yes, I was gun shy )

We've been married for 16-1/2 years now. You'll find her when you are not looking

Thanks for the encouragement. My wife has only known me as a military man, short hair, etc. Now that I have been out for several years, my look is more like the Harley biker style which the wife doesn't approve of (more of what I looked like before the military).

We are on good terms, I will help her as much as I can, she will not have to work for the rest of her life if she doesn't want to, I am committed to helping her for the sake of my two boys, exceeding what I am required to do legally.

As far as future companionship, I will take it slow, I want a best friend I want to be with 24/7, take me as I am and not what they think I could be.

I know, I plan on leaving the state in the next few weeks/months which will help me separate from the wife. Once I leave the state I think my new life will begin.

Not an easy decision to make, but at this time it is the decision I have made.
