You don't know the half of it. He went back a second time to escort a fire truck in too. All totaled he ran about 4-5 miles. This was in Alaska. The troopers GPS dropped the signal when he saw the dog. The trooper works with sled dogs so he was able to read the dogs body language and followed him.
