TAMPA (FCV) – Monday, the Florida Senate is set to further discuss the passage of HB 1557, the Parental Rights in Education Act, or more accurately described as the ‘anti-grooming’ bill.

Left-wing activists and Democrats who oppose the anti-grooming legislation have falsely labeled HB 1557 the “Don’t Say Gay Bill,” even though that is not the objective goal or function of the proposal.

Rather, if passed, the law would take effect July 1 and provide additional routes of information to parents regarding their child’s personal information, prevents school districts from withholding certain information that is “critical” to the child’s “mental, emotional, or physical well-being,” and prevents students up through third grade from being spoken to about sex.

Governor Ron DeSantis (R) Press Secretary Christina Pushaw dubbed the proposal the “Anti-Grooming Bill,” because grooming is colloquially understood as

DeSantis has indicated support for the legislation, but he did not propose it.

Democrats believe that the bill is set to pass, but continue fierce opposition and demonstrations against its passage.

HB 1557 was proposed by Florida State Representative Joe Harding (R).

The bullshit about it being the "Don't say "gay" bill got my blood boiling. What a complete load of horse shit.

The text of the bill is very clear and is the right thing to do. It should actually expand to all grades.

Idiots "on the street" responding to the msm version instead of the actual bill should be kicked in the box or sack.

They want "gay history" taught. I'm assuming that includes Sodom and Gomorrah? The fall of the Greek empire? How about the Weimer republic and rise of the Nazis? Let's talk about gay history, and the suffering it brings to entire societies. I'm good with that.

Seems like every show I watch has a gay scene. I have to be quick on the FF button. This includes Disney.

Good the bill passed. All sexual subjects should be opt-in only with the course thesaurus sent to parents ahead of time.

DeSantis shut down a local reporter Monday evening for using the left's propagandist "Don't Say Gay" label in reference to the anti-grooming bill.

"It's why people don’t trust people like you because you peddle false narratives," the Florida governor said as the bill was being debated on the state's Senate floor.
