Default New Rear Bearings

Guys, I wanted to share with you all that I just got my new bearings. The TAs will be here on friday and I decided to install new bearings and the U-joints are also bad. I'll be replacing those using the lifetime warranty sometime before Feb 30th.

Nice and shinny. Those are strong bearings ahh

Made in the USA stupid NAPA employee told me on Sunday they were made in Mexico.
That threw me and Brian off...

SKF Part # 930024

Strong lug studs

I was about 99% sure that was going to be the outcome. Glad to hear it.

For any who might not know I am about as brand loyal as it gets when I find something that I feel is good. If it has SKF on it, it gets a big from me.

what do those run ya? were the old ones showing signs of play. I noticed my 95 had tighter clearance than my 91 does- even with low miles.

Long story short. the old ones are good but chose to replace them anyway. I discovered the u-joints are also bad. I think I got to consider on changing my driving style, I see curves and I get too damn motivated.

+1! HAHA

With PB and a air gun mine came out fine! It was just tricky fitting the gun back there! Not much space!

Awesome Pete! You just replacing the joints of the half shafts or the entire shaft? I heard dennys driveshaft makes a nice piece...!

Corvette C4 Rear Axle Half Shaft 6061-T6 Aluminum 3.5 inch for 1984-1996 Corvette 1350 series u-joints

I wish I would have done mine while I was tearing the rear apart but never got around to it... Oh well

I wonder why they want people to measure the half-drive shafts. They should know how long they are by now.

never replaced bearings on a vette but it looks like they've simplified it from days gone by.

True, but a set of axle bearings were a lot cheaper back then if I remember correctly.

Simplified but not necessarily better IMO.

Rather than being able to rebuild/adjust a wheel bearing... now you just have to replace the whole hub assembly $$.

Relatively simple to replace, but spendy. The rears aren't near as hard to replace as everyone makes them out to be.

Right on doggah.

I have actually changed out a front bearing while laying on the ground at a race track in about 30 minutes start to finish with nothing more than basic hand tools.
