Default Wish me luck..... I got the 2nd interview
This time it's in person, too, which is what I prefer over recorded video interviews which my college does first to save time.

I'm actually very excited and feel confident I have a great chance at getting the spot because of my experience, time with the college, 20+ years in the IT field, project management, customer service, and veteran status.

the job is a mix between what I do now as a lead tech (tech support) for the campus and entry level back into the networking side of things and I have A LOT of experience in both.

I shoulda listened to my grade school teachers better....they said so many times, learn to write programs and become computer lit. it's the way of the future.....I did learn how to turn on my laptop!

Holy crap, am I old.
Calculators wouldn't be invented for another 20 years when I was in school.
Back in the early eighties, I used to program computers with punch cards.

Actually, people here tend to be fairly conservative with a certain minority and faculty being the exception. Even the college president is from Chicago and is comes across as very conservative (especially fiscally) compared to any past presidents and most of the executive leadership team.

Good Luck DJ. Youngest son is interviewing for a financial analyst position with a place on the other side of the country, he just moved on to the next level after 7 interviews, 7!!!! CEO is flying him out for hopefully the last one.

My last interview was 30 plus years ago involving beers and an appetizer at Applebees, CEO had me over to his house the weekend after and that was that. Different times indeed.

I have a friend who was a pipeliner, that is, a guy who worked for a pipeline company, worked out of his house.....handled miles and miles of mostly rural pipeline. Sweet gig, really.
