Crashed my Harley

Couple weeks ago, out riding with a buddy on some curvy German back roads. Went into blind turn and there was a lot of gravel on the road and another bike already down against guard rail, gravel was like marbles.

Ended up hitting guard rail, bike stopped quick but I kept going, broke 4 ribs, collar bone and shoulder bone.

Last Monday they pinned my collar bone so I am feeling better now that is isn't moving around anymore.

Had my Harley shipped to local Harley Davidson and they/insurance totaled the bike for mostly blemished pieces so I grabbed it and will replace the parts myself that are damaged.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, I've never ridden but I'd imagine that had to be a very scary situation

So far all is good, few more weeks for the bones to fully heal. I got lucky, other than the 6 bones and punctured lung nothing else is messed up, it could have been much worse.

It happened so quick, no time to think about it. I gave up riding when I had my first Son for this reason or worse, but few years ago starting riding again.

I will be back on the road soon.

Glad your ok hoping for a fast recovery. This is one of the reasons I don't ride anymore plus the fact S Fl. has the worst drivers and no insurances. I had the itch again two weeks ago and went to Harley but I came back to my senses.

Wow, that sucks. Very hard to know what's coming around the next corner. Did you know the other biker that was down?
I hope the shoulder doesn't give you problems later on.....mine does.
Bike looks pretty good considering.

That's the truth. Does't take much of it either. Sand in a curve will give you a bad day too.

Riding motorcycles is risky, I have two Harleys and plan on getting back on once me and the bike is a little better shape.

No other biker was a German driving straight from the other direction, he crashed before the turn that I came out of.

I hope I don't have problems too, it has crossed my mind. I was black and blue from waist to top of my shoulder, right side. i think all of the gravel is out of my skin now.

HD dealership wanted the bike cheap to fix and sell, they was not happy when I went to get it. They drove it out to me, nothing serious wrong with it.

Gravel was almost like marbles, you see it on the first pic I posted.

I do need a Filipino nurse for sure and that is still being worked. I have local Thai and Blondie American care takers to consider now also.

I forgot to mention the funny part of the accident.

I am left leg amputee, somehow when I hit the guard rail my leg somehow popped off and went flying into the ditch. German lady was freaking out and screaming as she saw it fly off into the ditch and she saw I was missing my leg. They told her I was an amputee later.

Police, paramedics, doctors and bystanders all freaked seeing I had no left leg but was not bleeding. Had my buddy find my leg so I could put it on and get up to walk around to show I was okay.

She did, we are in constant contact.

Found out today for sure the local Thai girl is interested.

Blondie American made some moves last week to let me know she is interested.

I need to get the pain level down more before I get to active.

I am starting to get movement back in my right arm, gets better each day, wrong move sometimes hurts like a MF at times.

That would be a great trick at parties.
