Reminds me of the burning and collapse of part of I-85 in Atlanta a few years ago. That made for a traffic nightmare for months.

After looking more closely, I'm sure that someone placed charges on the bridge. Total set up. Everyone knows that diesel fuel can't burn hot enough to melt steel and cause structural collapse of a concrete structure.

Only certain times, only when someone needed better pole numbers, distractions.
But, when protective coatings wash away, steel doesnt have a chance.
And concrete can blow up due to heat..

In the above article it references the 1996 fire which some juveniles set fire to "some" tires under the bridge. OK, it was thousands of tires. That fire also closed down 95 for a while.

The owner of those tires was Mr Carr ( Carr Tire in the Philadelphia suburbs). He ended up with jail time plus a 3 million fine to help pay for replacement.
