Default Help me brain storm some sponsors

I need to ramp up quickly in this area and add more targets.

Ideally a sponsor would be interested in:

1: reaching 95% of schools in America
2: reaching k-12 school buyers
3: getting national press -Time magazine, good morning America, fox and friends
4: driving word of mouth in social media.

our expedition will make the above happen. We have some big players on the upper scales $250k+ but need a couple in the $25k-$75k range.

We will be working with Mykel Hawke from Man, Woman, Wild to do some local appearances with Cabelas in Buda, Tx. And other press.

Are you guys familiar with Mykel and Ruth Hawke? He is a 23 year veteran DELTA force soldier, speaker seven languages and is a general badass his wife is a super sharp journalist from UK and she's damn tough too. Their show on discovery is a riot.

Companies like Casio, Cisco, Microsoft, intel, compass learning, camelback,

How about this company?

SMART Interactive Solutions for Education, Business and Government - SMART Technologies

They provided the Senteo stuff for my club's Teen Driving School...just a thought...

How about Blackboard? They create electronic courseware systems. I know they are big at the college level. It might be worth checking to see if they have a presence in grade schools and/ or high schools.

Have you thought about toy manufacturing companies? A lot of them make educational toys. For example, I picked up some Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephews from a company called Melissa and Doug.

Some of the other companies you may want to hit up are Crayola, Hasbro, LeapFrog, Little Tikes, Mattel. Those are just a few off of a list of US toy companies on Wikipedia. There's a link on the bottom of the Wiki page for toy companies by country, if you want to check out toy companies based abroad.

Another thought - given current events, the security companies are probably looking for ways to become more visible to the K-12 market.

You could pursue the manufacturers or the regional/national implementers. For the bigger companies, a $25-50K investment might be a cheap, non-controversial bump.

PM me for a list of companies if you think there might be a fit. I was in the industry for many years.

When I had a 501c3, Wal-Mart was always eager to hand out cash at the local level

Love that show. Might do it but next season...

Can't seem to get a contact there even though one guy on my team worked with Sam and one of my board members was the friggin CEO of the joint for 11 years. Maybe local ones have some cash....

Thanks! You guys are all knowing!

But you probably knew that already.
