Default Metal Standing seam roofing.

I'm about to add a small roof over a concrete slab next to my garage. Gotta get the '79 F250 under a roof.....

Roof will be 20'x32' @ a 4/12 pitch. For speed and costs I'm thinking about going with a metal product. Framing lumber came in less than expected 1700. plus tax

Any suggestions....galvanized, aluminum, 36" wide panels or smaller, etc.???

That's the look I like 16" panels? I don't care for the cheap HD/Lowes ribbed style. I'll check it out!

Ahh, your second set of pictures!

Do not get ghe cheap galvanized stuff from Lowes. I made that mistake for a compressor shed. I need to replace it as even small limbs damage it.
Finish is horrible and rusts very easy.

36" panels.

The cheap stuff at the big box stores is 29 gauge (maybe thinner?)

Or, go all out and install the Cor-Ten. It rusts intentionally.

Standing seam, preformed and snap together. No exposed fasteners, so should outlast me and probably the next generation. Shop-fabricated in custom widths so as not to end at an odd panel.

I chose a heavier gage and short ribs that will work with solar panels by attaching to the ribs, similar to the snow guard.

Agree.
I did spread Bahia seed over much of the disturbed areas. I was a little late last year and it was limited growth. Probably could have thrown winter rye but actually enjoying no cutting.
We’ll see what the seed does this spring.
The reality is whatever I do will be destroyed during construction.

Standing seam is awesome. I’ve used it a lot. Was $5-6 per foot now $10 per foot.

The material I used was flat without any ribs. I believe it was 24 or 22 gauge.
And yes most fab shops can size the pans to aid the layout.

That's the roof on my back porch. The underside is tongue and groove 2x6, exposed, varnished, with exposed 4x8 rafters. I had leaks in the fiberglass shingles that one of the best builders here could not find, and twice several of the boards were damaged.

I finally said screw it, remove the old shingles, replace the damaged boards, and throw money at it. Time will tell, but it's been three years and no leaks so far.

You're Jewish. Therefore, Big Potatoes. Your older now. You worry.

Enjoy life. Buy whatever material matches your classic old house and be done with it. You only live once. Do it right.

Love it.

I’ve done those as well. Installed on purlins only, no sheathing. On a dry sunny day you could see streaks of daylight up in the attic.
