I agree with all of that. We are in the late stages of the republic.

I wish my lunch buddies could understand this. Like most people they don't want to understand it. One guy in particular, that we see only on Thursdays, thinks something is going to pop and we'll go back to good ol' Murrica.

He's always pointing out what hypocrites the Dems are. I've told him before what Christina Pushaw, who works for DeSantis, said 2 1/2 years ago. She gets it.

We are in the middle of a Marxist revolution, which the world has seen plenty of in the past 100+ years. The Dems are just following the history books. I've never really tried to find out, but I don't think any countries ever voted their way out.

And as RFK Jr. said, "You can't comply your way out of tyranny."

And Stephen Miller, who was one of Trump's lawyers, absolutely nails it in two sentences ("originalism" means following the Constitution as it was originally written and intended).

"Conservatives actually believe that if they just explain originalism with enough patience and persuasion the Left will stop burning down civilization and jailing political enemies. Leftism does not seek rational debate in good faith; it seeks to conquer, humiliate and destroy."

He's right, but IMO we are in a post-Constitution era -- the Left doesn't give two shits about it. It's a dead letter, although like the law, they will use it to their advantage against their political enemies. A piece of parchment cannot enforce itself.

Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and other Founders had a lot of skepticism about all this, and they were right.

I hope I'm completely 101% wrong about all of this and my lunch buddy is right: Something will pop and we'll go back to 1980 or whatever. But I ain't holding my breath.
