RIP Robbie, you will be missed. **************************** I'm not sure if this has been posted but the absence of Forum member Robbie Kerr/Kerrmudgeon has led us to the unfortunate news of his passing. This was a while back, but I wasn't aware of it until now and I thought that maybe some of you also didn't know. Robert / William/ Kerr, 69, passed away on the 21st March at home in Nepean. He is survived by siblings Stuart, Karin and Bryan. We miss him as we do our parents, Helen and James Kenneth. Donations to the Heart Institute are appreciated, as are those to Diabetes charities. Special Thanks to an Officer and A Gentleman, Victor Baker O.P.S., for Standing Watch, over Robbie Robert was a graduate of Carleton U. He opened a Roadhouse restaurant on Merivale Road called the Sunken Dory and ran it for 13 years. The delicious food kept people coming back for more. Occasionally there were bands to enjoy and other special events. "where someone always knows your name.". Robbie loved cars—working on them, driving them, keeping them 'stock'. He owned a 1956 Chev Belair and a 1962 classic Corvette. He liked teaching the family about cars and in fact could build a car from the ground up and often won local car show awards. Rob was an excellent Chef, always in the kitchen, teaching and tasting. He enjoyed testing new recipes and using his Mom's traditional recipes. As per Robbie's wishes, there will be no religious solemnization. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. The traditional Scottish toast is: "Let us toast to friends, not to foes, to truth, not to falsehood, to health, not to sickness, and to joy, not to sorrow." God speed, Rahbbie, God speed. His last posts were of a month in hospital due to heart issues back in March.
IIRC he took care of his father until a couple of years ago(he died just short of 100 I believe). |
