Default SERIOUS, need VBers advice, wifey left me this AM,,,

,,, and she gets back Friday night, as in Austin, her and oldest daughter are rating wedding venues for a Summer 2024 wedding--I told them their budget is what they have in their savings account.

So, the real issues for which I need assistance for the next four days, in order of priortiy are:

FEEDING ME:

1) Can I eat beef all four nights, I think I am a decent pan steak gourment, I have enough in the garage freezer, but is this healthy
2) I am also thinky the Stouffer's MEATY Lasagna, not too bad, can get two meals out of it, will make a big salad and get a bagette at Publix bakery
3) Eat out every night, I can get a steak sub, then Outback, then Five Guys and then leftovers from all three on Friday night
4) Do I opt for the healthy cuisine, hummus tonight, and then salads and chicken and fish the next three nights

DOG DUTY:
I got this one figured out, feed them often, walk them more often, reward good behavior with some jerky.
Any other tips??

EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT:
Well, the wifey's 2018 XT5 is ready for a full matinenance (brakes, rotors, brake fluid, radiator flush, all belts and hoses and filters, and all fluids, etc...
I advised her MY GUY would be doing this, she said okay but failed to leave me the $2+K needed.
The maintenance will be completed before she returns, do I ask her for the money when I pick her up at the airport on Friday, or simply state Merry Christmas, your Caddy is a good as new.
Also, am I required to buy her any other gifts if I pay for this??

No. God NO!

And you know the wedding budget is whatever they want it to be, correct? You have no say in it. When our daughter got married I told her and my wife I didn't want to know what anything cost, and to just tell me where to be when and how to dress.

I already paid for one bad wedding, there was around 100 people and somehow it got to $50+K with my most generous gift-giving.

If this one comes in at under $60K I would be surprised.
It will be a destination wedding, but wifey and I have many family members, so I know it will be 100+.

I may go on the cheap for food at the reception, thinking about coon samiches from CFA.

Oh hell no! Whatsamattah, you? Are ya gettin light in your loafers?

The closest you ever come to eating what the actual food eats is a steady diet of broccoli, cabbage, beans, and maybe some asparagus so that you have a present waiting for your wife when she returns that she will never forget.

That's fine, but getting sodas to drink might be a bit difficult.

1. Unless you're a man-bun toting, EV driving liberal who sometimes identifies as male, this is the obvious choice.

2. This is also OK, but for God's sake...get GARLIC BREAD!

3. There should never be leftovers.

4.

Mine was fairly cheap, too. I took it in the shorts when it came to the divorce, though

You have to find the sweet spot.

It's finding "I don't want anything, I just want out" without going too far and ending up with "You asshole, I'm going to destroy you".

OP, you're overthinking this.

Burgers and beer for everyone. Doggies included.

Order that new custom ground camshaft/long block/supercharger or turbo kit before the wedding costs hit.

Fire up one of the mean nasty machines and go burn some rubber (and if the ho isn't available, then take one of the cars out).

I was thinking a few veggies every night, as I eat all of them except wet and runny squash, but a lot easier just to make a salad big enough for a few days, and put some Steak Fries in the air fryer thingy.

Was considering tomorrow night burning a few burgers outside on the Weber, but with the weather dropping into the 70s, it may be too cold.
