I knew a local old farmer (I used to bang his Bernie Sander's loving step-daughter) who made snapping turtle soup. He died about 5-6 years ago, was in his late-80s. He was an old-timer, never finished school, but knew all about the important things in life.

He had hundreds of one-liners floating around in his head (not all clean) and could spit them out at the drop of a hat. He was a great wit, also a very good artist, a talent he was born with. All of us locals miss him.

But I was never in the right place at the right time to try the soup. So, I've never had turtle soup.
