Talking Most Humid Cities in America

Everybody knows the most humid cities are all in Florida, right?

WRONG!

Only two of the top 20 are in FL. And - GASP - the most humid city in America is - GASP - San Francisco. Don't tell Anjdog, he'll get depressed.

Link to story and data.

Clearly this story only focuses on large cities. Fort Myers is WAY worse than Houston. August is 100% humidity for all 31 days of the month.

Galveston is number 3, but Houston is only 10th? C'mon, man! I live between the two cities, I suspect it's closer to 3 than 10. Also, places like San Fran, number 1, don't have the oppressive heat, and thus, the "heat index" that makes humidity so intolerable.

RIF. The study looked at several decades of data and averaged it. It didn't look at cities less than 50k people or at the heat index.

They used data from 1950 through 2018. When did Ft. Myers exceed 50,000?

Thanks for info!!

FL is tops in all aspects, the only ones who cannot agree with this are the ones who are pissed off they cannot get here permanently.

BTW, there are counters to high humidity:

1) Lose some damn weight
2) Increase your cardio capacity
3) Grow a pair
4) Stay indoors
5) Use mo A/C
6) Go back home to frozen tundra

The humidity right now in HB is 90% It's 68 degrees and a light wind breaker is comfortable. I lived in the Midwest and the south. The south is by far more miserable in the summer than the Midwest. I have family in Galveston,. Austin and Houston. I lived in New Orleans, Tulsa, and Augusta Georgia.

Ask LearPilot about Florida.

I would guess Seattle to be one of them. When I was planning my bike trip it had rained every day for the previous year and a half (or something like that). Strangely enough it didn't rain the weekend I was there and everyone I met thanked me for bringing the nice weather

It's not just humidity, but heat and humidity. SanFran is not exactly a high heat zone.

Here in the Blue Ridge we have very high humidity (hence the name). We're a temperate rainforest. But it is rarely uncomfortable during the warmest months, not at all like Floriduh.

3. Why? People in the north with freezing weather can say the same thing
4. Exactly what t i want to do is stay indoors.
5. I'd rather not have to have A/C or have it on all the time on high
6. Live in states that don't have humidity or terrible winters

Big time. I was there in Texas last December.Ben there many times. I have family there. One of the most desolate states and not very pretty. They have some nice spots but far and few between. Everything there is extreme. Rain, snow, humidity, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, heat, and wind. People that live there either grew up there or moved there because it's cheap -not so much now-. And as the prices are getting higher now in Texas which they are, people will move out of Texas and find a cheaper place to live.

I will simplify my stance, do your research first, the weather will not change just because you decide to make it your home.

Those who bash FL for everything need to stay away, as we currently do not have the capacity for the thousands coming here every hour!!

We get it, you hate FL, please stay true to that!!
