She and her husband were moving into a new house in Las Vegas. They were pretty much beat from moving boxes of stuff from the garage to wherever it was supposed to go, and they then ran a couple of errands, came back home and realized that they had one more errand to run before staying in for the night. Their garage was still loaded with boxes of stuff so my sister parked her car in the driveway, ran in to get something and left her keys in the car. Her husband remembered something he needed and went into the house too. Literally one minute later someone stole her car.
They easily tracked it down like a lost iPhone. Helicopters and everything. The guy didn't go down easy though, he started jumping curbs and basically thrashing the poor thing. Really did a number on it. Of course the thief was a useless multiple-felon piece of shit well known to the Las Vegas police, and they brought her car back to her and said "Welp, got your car back."
