When you are forced to get out of the car, that's the time to STFU, invoke the 5th, and tell them you don't want to delay them at all in writing the ticket with a bunch of small talk.

The cop is stalling for time trying to get the drug dog on site, that's the whole point for having someone get out of the car in the first place, and then engaging in a bunch of questions. Stall for time.

Alternatively, he could have just cut to the chase and told the cop, look I understand what's happening here, a pretext stop to search my car, then tell the cop you'll give permission as soon as he's done writing the ticket or warning and gives him his ticket. Assuming the cop falls for that, when he has the ticket and license in hand, say sorry, you changed your mind, you don't consent to search, are you free to go. Bonus if you get the cop to admit he has no other violations or suspicions prior to that, and on tape. After that, the stop is supposed to be over, so continuing the detainment to wait for a dog he now has to call is unlawful.

Having said that, it looks like, from the video, that the initial infraction alleged didn't even happen, so a guy willing to lie just to stop you probably isn't going to be constricted by any other legal nicety.

Still, this is a chicken shit cop. If he was any good at his job, he should be able to tell within a couple of minutes whether the guy's a drug mule or not. He's trying to seize cash, guns, and drugs. Why would you waste your time with someone who obviously isn't doing any of that? This isn't who you are looking for. Kick him loose and try again instead of going through the motions and turning yet another honest citizen into a cop hater.
