My FIL put in an electric heat pump about 8 or 10 years ago when they added AC, he didn't know about the heat strips and about stroked first big bill. He has NG in house the MIL hates NG always afraid of it yet they had in previous house both NG furnace and stove
They have electric baseboard heat and told them they should use it and turn main furnace down to save money when gets real cold.
I'm talking 7 to 800 for electric a month and house isn't big in winter now.
