Funny the Dukes of September worked out great with the lead men of both Steely Dan and Doobie brothers playing together for three years. Playing songs from both groups. Maybe the burnt out Hippies that liked the Doobie brothers wanted the Grateful Dead instead of a more talented group like Steely Dan.
