Outside of Baltimore, there was the Beth Steel Sparrows Point shipyard and steel mill, the biggest tidewater steel mill in the world.
Tore it all down a few years ago, nothing there of mill. Building large commercial complexes now.

I remember Sparrows Point from a college tour of the GM assy plant there, back in the early/mid 60's.....and seeing the steel plant too.....
So I guess it's all gawn now.....I know GM closed their plant, it was an eye opener, complete RR trains coming inside the building so parts could be unloaded.....
