It can get you shot and killed. True story: in the violent crime wasteland known as Miami, two dudes were in a residential area going in opposite directions and stopped in the middle of the road to chitchat. Someone wanted to get by and beeped. One of the chitchatters followed beeper dude to his house and shot him dead in his driveway. WTF
