and state income taxes are 5% max. if you are making 250k, 5% of that is 12,500, add another 4000 for property taxes, and you are still ahead by leaving TX.

Yep, and that's why GWiz is still in Florida. The company she works for is out of Pennsylvania, and they accidentally pulled PA taxes out of her first check. Ooops, that was a large chunk. Between Florida's tax situation and our autocross venue, I honestly don't see her leaving any time soon. She wants to win a national championship, and I'm sure she does. I give it 2 years. She beat her car owner, co-driver by 4/10ths today. That's a HUGE number. Today was practice. Tomorrow will be telling.
