Mods get neat point-and-shoot edit options for things like threads/posts/polls/users, etc.
Admins effectively have control over every single letter and byte of data posted on the the website. Between User/Mod/Admin, the differences between each level are quite profound.
Trust me when I say navigating the backend of a website is not nearly as much fun as posting on the site, or even using the ModCP.
