Tore mine while I was in the Navy. I didn't let them operate cause I've seen what Navy Dr.s do while "practicing" to become real DR.s. Mine eventually healed and I was able to finish my career. Most others I knew that had the surgery for that type of an injury got discharged for medical reasons.
