Frank Zappa was an eccentric and genius. He could write music for and conduct Philharmonics. A very underrated guitarist. Most of his band members were in the top of their profession from Jean Luc Ponty to George Duke to Steve Vai etc. Steve Vai said one time when he played with Frank that Frank Zappa did stuff on the guitar that he has never seen then or now by any guitarist.

I have been a Zappa fan since I figured out who he was when I was a kid. Visited an old buddy from college a few weeks ago in the mountains of Va, and we sat around sipping good whiskey and listening to Zappa, and a fair amount of Beat Farmers.
