You won't know if it lines up until the left dash pad is in...and that is the last interior soft piece (except for column trim) to go in and it isn't adjustable. Fek, you'll be cussing that mofo all the way in...and then you'll figure out you knocked a dash bulb out, or worse, dropped it inside the speedometer...rattle, rattle down the road.
Get it in place and do a final light check before tightening screws.
There is tons of adjustment on the position of the lower bracket which attaches to the column. Probably 1.25" front-back and 1.25" left-right.
