I'm of the opinion that a perfectly served Gin Martini is awesome.
I have sent Martinis back because the so-called bartender shook it so long, I was served a Gin slushie.
Not acceptable, would not drink, even with Ispencer534's liver.
A proper Martini, IMHO starts with a Martini glass, and a shaker pulled from a freezer, and good Gin From a fridge.
The gin is poured over ice and STIRRED, the Martini glass has a bit of Vermouth swirled, then dumped.
Poued through a strainer, with an olive placed in the bottom, toothpick optional.
Good stuffed olives should be served on the side.

YMMV
