DACA
The Administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will permit states to issue Driver's Licenses to illegal immigrants. California has a 1993 law on the books denying this occurrence but it appears that the left coast socialists are going to repeal it and start issuing licenses to the approximately 390,000 illegal immigrants currently resident in California.
In Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and others have said for some time that issuing driver's licenses to illegal immigrants would increase public safety because licensed drivers are required to pass a driving test and to have auto insurance.
However, under the current reciprocity agreements between states a valid California license issued to an illegal immigrant is valid in other states such as Arizona where Gov. Brewer has explicitly stated that no state services are to be provided to people who are there illegally.
So what is to preclude an illegal immigrant to drive from Phoenix with no license whatsoever to downtown Los Angeles to obtain a California license and then to return to Arizona where the state must accept it?
