When I bought my camp back in 86 the wiring would not pass NEC for sure, I doubt some of it would pass Hammurabi's Code
I did get the price down a bit more because of the wiring.!
Of all the phuck ups I think the best one was they used telephone wire to carry power in a few places, one of which was on a 20 A Circuit. They combined the red and green and also combined the other two wires thereby doubling what it could carry.
Splices in the wall were just twisted together, no nuts or boxes used. That camp was about 50 years old with a 60A fuse box when we bought it, why it never burned down I have no clue. We used the camp for about 16 years till I tore it down and built my present year around house. I rewired the camp before we spent a night in it. The funny thing just about all that was needed to do the wiring right was out in the garage, I hardly bought anything to do the rewire!
