The Dolphins issued a statement to CBSSports.com declining comment.

Dolphins owner Steve Ross decided to stick with coach Tony Sparano after courting Jim Harbaugh, who went on to take the San Francisco 49ers job, in the offseason.

Ross was heavily criticized for flirting with Harbaugh, while Sparano was still leading the team.

The Dolphins suffered an embarrassing loss Sunday to the Denver Broncos. Miami blew a 15-0 lead with three minutes to go as Tim Tebow led Denver to two touchdowns and a two-point conversion to force overtime, where the Broncos won it on a 52-yard field goal.

Umm. He used to coach for the Browns. Maybe. Just maybe.
