There was an accident at the intersection three houses down from me last year. One of the cars traveled into my neighbor's yard and struck a post on her carport. It also just barely touched her car (2016 Altima) leaving a very small scuff on the right rear wheel and a scratch literally an inch long on the wheel well lip. The insurance company replaced the wheel and had the scratch repaired. CarFax now shows "Accident with Rear End Damage".
A friend wrecked his car a few years ago (his fault) and damn near tore the front clip off and scraped the whole right side. Towed it home, bought the parts and had another friend paint the car. No insurance claim, so CarFax show no history of damage or repair.
Don't believe all you read.
