My great grandfather escaped from Russia and my great grandmother smuggled out a Russian cross. I believe these crosses were illegal to own when they escaped. It is just a chunk of metal, but it represented something so much more to them. Freedom of expression and the suppression of choice.
I have no idea what the monetary value is, but the value within the family is very high.
