Waco, how would you feel about someone who you knew was a card-carrying member of the KKK, who went to all the meetings, had fellowship with all the other members, but never materially participated personally in any acts of terror or violence? They never did anything but be a member... although, interestingly enough, they never ever, not once, condemned any of the steady stream of evil deeds the more radical members perpetrated.
Let's also say they smiled and were cordial to their non-KKK member co-workers. And they pretty much kept all Klan-related beliefs to themselves and their fellow Klansmen.
Would you happily accept them for who they were? I mean, after all, THESE individuals never harmed you or anyone in any way.
