Try this, cut your cat off from one of his favorite rooms, half-day day whatever it takes for him to beg you to go back in there, and then when he goes back in put a new toy in there, rinse and repeat cut off new toy and make a game out of it keeps them on their “hunting” toes and they love it.
I think I understand now. You are actively stimulating your cats to be inquisitive and keep you awake all night with their exploring. If you weren't over-stimulating them they would sleep peacefully in your bed the entire night.
