With some tweaking (shutting down backround apps mainly) battery draw is minimal. Now an LG i had would drain the battery in half an hr inside a store trying to get a location lock. It would be almost too hot to touch by then, total POS. Another issue with battery drain regardless of manufacturer is cell reception strength and if you're between towers it'll keep switching and battery life goes down I have found.
When looking for a phone the larger the battery the longer the life and some are available with larger addon batteries even. The cheap phone have small batteries and don't last long.
My ancient LG flip is still on its OE battery and I charge once a week, sometimes longer. I sincerely hope I never need a "smart phone" because from what you people all have to say about the use and care thereof I'd probably use the sumbitch as a rifle target a week or 2 into ownership.
