I am currently less than 4 years younger than my Mother was when she died. I am less than 12 years younger than my Dad was when he died.
In fact, I'm 57, and until recently, NO male blood relative of mine had lived to see his 71st Birthday in AT LEAST 3 generations! In 2019, a male first cousin of mine turned 71, so he broke the streak. He is not well now.
It may be a cliche, but I have never heard of anyone getting to their death bed, and wishing they had spent more time at work. So, IMO, if you have the chance, take it! If I have to go back to work later, so be it!
