I'm not sure why this would be. In recent years, my taxes have gotten simpler. In fact, this year, I only had to do 2 tax returns, where in previous years, I did as many as 8. My basic Federal and State have gotten simpler too, as I have fewer P&Ls to manage, and no more dependents or Education Tax Credits to worry about.
