Here's where it sucks from management standpoint. If I set up a bonus plan that pays the top 5k and the middle 3k, it doesn't take long to realize the extra work isn't made up for in the bonus after taxes.
Then the top performers want their base adjusted come year end review, but HR didn't put that in the budget...
I could go on for days....
