The Ferry is a great meeting place, usually when I go up to AC for music stuff, we all just meet at the Ferry at a designated time, cross over together, then take our own routes and pace to the venue. It can get a little pricey though, it was like $30-$40 last year to cross.
It is fun when the water is rough...rock and roll baby.
