If we are talking original equipment on C3s, then yes, the 305s, 327s and 350s were small blocks, and the 427s and 454s were big blocks. It got more complicated as time went on.
In 1974, Corvettes were available with a 454 cubic inch big block engine.

I wonder why, in the mid and late 50s and early 60s, Chevy never offered a 348 or 403 BB in the vettes?
