Dentist told me I needed a root canal. Sent me to a specialist. It was to be done on a top front tooth that got broken off years earlier in a motorcycle accident. He was working at it for awhile and then sorta started getting nervous and noticeably so. A tungsten carbide bit had broken off inside my upper jaw. And he couldn't get it out.
Scheduled me to come back a week later, I guess so he could get some ideas on what to try. Worked me over really good, still couldn't get it out so he went with option Z, which was leave it there. So I have a small needle-thin tungsten carbide drill bit in my skull. The good part was he didn't charge me for the root canal, which was otherwise successful apparently.
