That whiney guitar thing that Randy Rhodes invented is a bit hard to learn at first, but once you're dialed in properly, it's doable.
It may be 3 chords, but the trick is to put them together into an arrangement that people like.
If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.
Although these tunes are not my cup of tea, there is some good stuff in there, imo.
