Then ya have to trust your instincts!
I was able to tell where the strange noise in my Vette was coming from by CAREFULLY, as Paul said, getting under the car while running and on jacks. We were able to determine it was specifically coming from the torque converter area in front of the trans. Confirmed it with trusted certified Mechanic. Oh and Sneaks diagnosed it right from the start!
