To add, the media and society are creating division while preaching a message of diversity and inclusion.
By backing one segment of society into a corner while trying to prop up another, they are essentially throwing gasoline on the fire.
Politics and personal freedoms aside, it's ok to hate on the right leaning white male, but god forbid somebody say something derogatory toward a person of color, a woman, gay person etc. Thought police gone wild.
By creating division and hatred, watching and what seems to be hoping for the violent results, they are having your cake and eating it too.
While there were problems and violence concerning immigrants to the United States in the 19th and early 20th centuries, generally the people that were coming here were not that culturally different from the established population. They shared a religion, and generally the people immigrating here were all about assimilating and working toward common goals.
Now you have people that are very culturally different that don't have the desire to ingrain themselves in an already established culture. A lot of them just want to exploit, and bring the values of the place they left and change the places they move to. It doesn't take a genius to figure out there are going to be problems caused by that.
Just look at the Roman Empire and the Goths. We are following the EXACT same path.
