I have one of those too. The street car sees track days at things like Corvette gatherings when there is an HPDE, for example.

Insurance - if I had wrecked my new T/A. Insurance wouldn't have covered it at the track.

Check with your insuror. Mine will cover damage as long as it is not a competition (i.e. timed event) so thins like HPDE's are good.
