Those are work buildings. They keep various boat supplies there and they are also used when cleaning clams and other seafood.
They are nice, hard working folks who work there. Speaking with one of the boat crew before we headed back, I got the very distinct impression it's a place with conservative values ( hard work and no "free" handouts)
They have exactly one police officer who lives on the island. Everybody knows each other keeps an eye out for each other too.
