When there are no repercussions for this sort of thing, it encourages more of it. If these police officers were punished the same way any civilian would be, this sort of thing would stop. But that's not going to happen anytime soon.

In LA 8 cops fired 103 rounds into the pickup truck of two women delivering papers. Remember that back when that cop killer dude was on the lamb? Well, after a two year investigation, they were found to have not broken any department policies.

A civilian who fired even one round into a vehicle by mistake would be punished to the letter of the law with extreme prejudice in LA (well, unless he was a gang banger...)

It's the double standard that really frosts me.
